A previous Amazon Prime Video executive introduces a new app focusing on video-based shopping services
In the ever-evolving world of e-commerce, a new player has entered the scene, aiming to disrupt the video commerce sector. Trendio, a video shopping app, has recently been launched by Alex Perez-Tenessa and David Olmos.
The startup has attracted attention with its unique features, allowing users to interact with creators through live and pre-recorded videos. This innovative approach sets Trendio apart from its competitors, such as TikTok Shop, Instagram Shopping, NTWRK, ShopShops, Wayfair On Air, Wish Clips, Klarna's shoppable videos, and Amazon's shoppable videos.
Trendio's mission is to provide a personalized and trustworthy shopping experience. To ensure this, the company has implemented stringent criteria for its brand partners and content creators. This means shoppers can trust the content they find on Trendio, knowing that it comes from reliable and relatable sources.
Users can browse personalized shoppable content, with brands such as Merit, Philosophy, Ursa Major, Nudestix, and Avene readily available. One of the standout features is the ability for users to pin their favourite products to dashboards and make purchases directly from brands within the app.
To further enhance the user experience, Trendio is currently working on improving its artificial intelligence capabilities for video auto-editing in 2023. This advancement is expected to increase conversion rates, making shopping on Trendio even more seamless.
Trendio's advisory board includes industry experts like Jeff Yurcisin, Munira Rahemtulla, and Michael Zeisser. The startup has also received seed funding from venture capital firm Madrona.
Perez-Tenessa, co-founder of Trendio, stated that the app is reinventing shopping entertainment for a new generation. With its focus on personalization, trust, and interaction, Trendio is poised to make a significant impact in the U.S. market, following the success of video commerce in China.
As the video commerce market continues to grow, it will be interesting to see how Trendio fares against its competitors. One thing is certain: the future of shopping is looking more entertaining than ever.
