Swedish pop sensation Björn Ulvaeus of Abba fame is tapping into futuristic technology in his latest venture - creating music with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI). In a recent chat with the US entertainment magazine "The Hollywood Reporter" during a London event, the 80-year-old shared his AI-assisted plans.
"I'm currently diving headfirst into a musical with some help from AI," Ulvaeus enthused. But while AI is one heck of a helper, it ain't flawless. "Here's the deal: AI can't write an entire song - that's a bust. Terrible, really. And its lyrical skills are downright abysmal. But it excels at coming up with ideas," he clarified, adding, "And that's where it proves its worth!"

When asked about how AI stacks up against his Abba partner Benny Andersson, Ulvaeus couldn't help but quip, "It works faster and follows instructions to a T. But it's simply no replacement for a real songwriting partner."
Ulvaeus and Andersson have been crushing it with hits like "Mamma Mia," "Waterloo," and "Dancing Queen." Ulvaeus, intrigued by the digital realm, particularly AI and its repercussions on the music industry, finds himself drawn to harnessing this technology to feed his creative fire.

The Commission is also proposing to extend the scope of the programme to include technology like AI, particularly in the realm of music creation, as demonstrated by Björn Ulvaeus of Abba, who is currently working with AI in his latest musical project. Additionally, as artificial-intelligence continues to evolve, it could prove valuable in enhancing the skills of human artists in the music industry.
