AI Communis Secures $1.3M for ASR, NLP Expansion in Asia
AI Communis, a Singapore-based specialist in Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) technologies, has secured $1.3 million in seed funding. The round was led by Todai IPC, with participation from Global Brain, Toppan Ventures, and other Japanese venture capital funds, as well as Singaporean angel investors. The funds will be used to bolster Auris AI's product offerings and expand its reach in Asia.
Founded in 2020 by Nobuhiko Suzuki and Ian Lane, Auris AI is a software-as-a-service product that transcribes, translates, and subtitles content. It uses AI Communis' proprietary ASR technology, which is tailored to Asian languages, reducing operating costs. Since its beta launch in December 2021, Auris AI has attracted over 90,000 users across 200 countries.
With the new funds, AI Communis aims to solidify Auris AI's product offerings and scale operations in Asia. The company seeks to expand its reach to global content makers, multi-channel networks, and content providers in Southeast Asia. This expansion will make Asian content more accessible to the world and vice versa.
AI Communis' successful seed funding round, involving prominent Japanese venture capital firms and Singaporean investors, signals confidence in the company's ASR and NLP technologies. The funds will enable Auris AI to strengthen its products and grow its user base in Asia, fostering global accessibility to Asian content.
