However, it did question a few sentences as AI-written, even though it gave an overall 100% confidence rating.
Grammarly, primarily a writing assistant, does offer AI detection capabilities. Its interface is somewhat confusing, as it flags both plagiarism and AI writing at the same time. In our test, Grammarly flagged a chapter from a book as having 7% plagiarism, which didn't sit well. When it came to identifying AI content, Grammarly wasn't as accurate, and it often flagged human-written content as AI.
Winston AI and Monica are two other powerful apps, similar in many ways to Originality.ai. Both tools have their share of strengths and weaknesses when it comes to AI detection. Winston AI, for instance, offers a 96% human score for AI detection, while Monica uses Copyleaks for its AI detection capabilities.
