Altercation Involving Assault and Offensive Language by LPI-G
On the night of August 23, 2025, a disturbing incident unfolded in Heinrichsplatz, Gera. At around 00:10 AM, the Gera Police Inspectorate, part of the Thuringian Police, were on foot patrol in the area as part of crime prevention measures.
During their patrol, the officers encountered a 37-year-old man who began insulting and physically assaulting them. The officers had to take immediate action to subdue and restrain the man due to his aggressive behaviour.
The man was taken into custody for his actions and will face charges for assaulting law enforcement officers. In addition, he will also face charges for public insults.
