Announcing the Latest Audio Subwoofer Model: Optimal Audio Sub 6
Optimal Audio Introduces Compact Passive Subwoofer for Commercial Audio Installs
Optimal Audio has expanded its aural ecosystem with the introduction of the Sub 6, a compact passive subwoofer designed for commercial audio installations. This new addition offers deep, powerful bass performance with flexibility and control, making it suitable for spaces where size is at a premium.
The Sub 6's enclosure is made of durable MDF and is available in black or white textured paint, ensuring it blends seamlessly into a variety of interior designs. The subwoofer features a 6-inch driver and a generously sized low-frequency port to minimize air noise, providing increased impact and low-frequency performance.
One of the key benefits of the Sub 6 is its flexibility. It can be placed in tight spaces such as under banquette seating, mounted on walls or ceilings, or flown using integral M8 inserts. The unit can be controlled via any powered Optimal Audio Zone controller's onboard WebApp, allowing for straightforward system setup and end-user control. Additionally, it can be driven by a pair of bridged channels on any powered Optimal Audio Zone controller.
The Sub 6 delivers 250W (AES) of power and boasts a peak SPL of 118dB, ensuring it can handle higher sound levels without damaging the driver. Recessed cable channels are included for discreet installation, and low profile rubber feet are provided for installation on two surfaces.
Optimal Audio's Product Manager, David Morbey, commented that the addition of Sub 6 to the Optimal Audio ecosystem gives integrators more choice and flexibility in the commercial audio space. He invites customers for a first listen to Sub 6 at their next open days in September.
With its compact size, robust power handling capacity, and versatile installation options, the Sub 6 is well-suited for commercial audio installations where customization, power, and sound quality are priority.
