Arrives the new non-electric Kia K4 Hatch model

The Kia Ceed, a popular choice for many UK drivers, is no more. However, fear not, as it is being replaced by a new model – the Kia K4. This new offering from the South Korean automaker Kia is expected to hit the UK market later this year.

The Kia K4 is a family hatchback, joining the ranks of cars like the VW Golf and Ford Focus. It offers a range of powertrain options, including ICE-only powertrains and a full hybrid option to follow. The base model comes equipped with a 1.0-litre T-GDi petrol engine, while a 1.6-litre T-GDi petrol engine is available in two power options.

The new Kia K4 has a starting price of £18,295 in the UK, making it an affordable option for many families. The top-tier model, the First Edition, priced at £26,850, offers additional features such as a DCT transmission.

The Kia K4 boasts a modern and stylish design, with a floating roofline and hidden door handles in the C-pillar. It also features a single panel housing a 12.3-inch screen for driver display and another for infotainment, along with physical controls for climate and volume.

Safety is a top priority for Kia, and the Kia K4 is no exception. It offers various Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) features, including Rear Cross Traffic and Smart Cruise Control.

The new Kia K4 was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March and has already received a facelift for 2021, joining the Kia Ceed Hatch, Ceed Estate, and ProCeed in the updated lineup. The Kia Picanto and Kia XCeed have also been revamped to align with the Kia K4's modern design.

The Kia K4 is expected to be released in Europe in early 2026, replacing the Kia Ceed. The anticipated base price for the Kia K4 in Germany is around 26,000 euros, while in the U.S., the entry price is approximately $21,990. However, European prices will vary due to taxes and tariffs.

The Kia K4 is longer than a VW Golf, offering more space for passengers and cargo. With its improved tech, design tweaks, and powertrain upgrades, the Kia K4 is set to make a strong impact in the family hatchback market.

The new Kia Ceed Hatch (without the apostrophe) will be available for sale in the UK from 1 August. Interested buyers can visit their local Kia dealership to learn more about the Kia K4 and take it for a test drive.
