Astana's LRT depot has reached a 50% completion rate

The construction of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) depot center in Nur-Sultan, the capital city of Kazakhstan, is currently 50% complete, according to the latest reports from City Transportation Systems, the company overseeing the project. The depot center is a vital part of the Astana Light Metro project, which is scheduled for completion and opening in 2025.

The LRT depot center, located in Nur-Sultan, will house essential facilities including the control center, operational center, repair center, and locomotive depot. These facilities are crucial for the stable operation of the entire LRT system, which comprises 18 stations over a 22.4-kilometer network and 19 rolling stock units.

The commissioning of the LRT depot center will enable round-the-clock monitoring of train movement and the condition of all LRT infrastructure. This centralized management system will streamline repair processes and ensure reliable operation, technical maintenance, and storage of rolling stock.

Internal partition installation is ongoing within the depot center, signifying that construction is proceeding according to schedule. The main reinforced concrete and metal structure work in the operational and locomotive depot of the LRT depot center has already been completed.

The Astana Light Metro project, which includes the construction of the LRT depot center, resumed construction after previous halts. The press service of City Transportation Systems has reported on the progress of the project.

The LRT depot center is a key element of transport infrastructure in Nur-Sultan. Its completion will not only mark a significant milestone in the Astana Light Metro project but also contribute to the city's growing public transportation network.

As the construction of the LRT depot center progresses, the city and its residents look forward to the completion of the entire Astana Light Metro system in 2025.

The LRT depot center, essential for the Astana Light Metro project, will also house facilities related to technology, such as the control center, which will monitor train movement and maintenance through finance-backed systems. The completed depot center, a key part of Nur-Sultan's growing transportation infrastructure, will contribute to the city's advancement in the industry sector, particularly in transportation and technology.
