Barclays Partners with UNDO to Remove Over 6,500 Tonnes of CO2

UNDO, a trailblazing carbon removal project developer, has inked a deal with Barclays to eliminate over 6,500 tonnes of CO2 using its innovative enhanced rock weathering technology. This marks Barclays' first-ever carbon removal agreement, following a significant reduction in its own emissions.

UNDO's method accelerates nature's weathering process by spreading crushed silicate rock across agricultural land. This process captures CO2 from the atmosphere and enriches the soil. The project with Barclays will cover 10,000 acres of farmland in Ontario, Canada.

Backed by notable customers like Microsoft and British Airways, and partners such as Barclays, UNDO has made waves in the carbon removal scene. The company's success includes winning the $5 million XPRIZE Carbon Removal competition. Once weathered, the rock stores CO2 in rainwater and soil, ultimately transporting it to the oceans for long-term storage.

UNDO's agreement with Barclays is a significant step towards the bank's net-zero goal by 2050. By supporting this project, Barclays is not only reducing its own emissions but also investing in innovative solutions to combat climate change.
