A Peek at the Past: Prologue, the Next Survival Masterpiece!

Gear up for "Prologue," the latest survival game crafted by the geniuses behind PUBG at PlayerUnknown Productions. This game ain't for the faint-hearted! With a brutal environment that pushes your survival skills to the limit, you'll be battling hunger, thirst, and temperature as you traverse the rugged and confusing terrain.

But fear not, that's not the only challenge awaiting you - the game's map is a staggering 100x100 kilometers! PlayerUnknown Productions is aiming high, striving to create a massive, realistic world for a survival game like no other. It's an ambitious goal, but one that they're more than capable of achieving.

Here's a quick rundown of what's happening in the gaming world:

  • 2025 Games: The year's hottest upcoming releases
  • Best PC Games: Our all-time favorites
  • Free PC Games: A haul of freebies
  • Best FPS Games: The finest gunplay action
  • Best RPGs: Unforgettable grand adventures
  • Best Co-op Games: Games that are better together

Creator Brendan Greene opened up to Epic Games about the challenges they faced and the journey to bring Prologue to life. "We didn't have a serious plan," he said. "My leadership team at the start wasn't the right team to lead the studio. They didn't have enough experience making games." But with a bit of brainstorming, they were able to come up with a plan that would set the stage for Prologue’s development.

With Early Access just around the corner, players will soon have the chance to playtest the game's maps and provide feedback on the generative AI that creates a new map every time a player launches the game. Prologue is expected to be in Early Access for over a year before it moves into full launch, with an additional two years of post-launch support to follow.

The exact nature of the Early Access phase isn't entirely clear yet, but Greene made it clear that the main goal is to generate enough revenue to fund the second game and the next stage of Project Artemis. "We have Prologue, which will fund us into Game Two, hopefully. We're also looking at raising funding at the moment," Greene said.

As for the gameplay itself, Greene claims that it's already solid, but requires polish and balance. "I enjoy playing it, and there's not a whole lot of games I enjoy playing," he added.

Despite the challenges they faced and the uncertain future of the game, Greene remains optimistic. "I could see the possibility of the platform, and especially emergence. That's what made me fall in love. Seeing this kind of survival game where you tell your own story, rather than it being a path you’re meant to follow, filled me with a lot of excitement." With Prologue, players will have the freedom to carve their own paths and create their own stories in an expansive and dynamic world.

One thing is for certain - Prologue will be a survival game like no other. And while we don't quite know how you'd become a warlord just yet, one thing's for sure: Someone out there is bound to figure it out. So buckle up, survivalists, and get ready for an adventure of a lifetime!
