BYD Unveils New Electric Articulated Bus B18.b with Massive Battery and Rapid Charging
BYD has unveiled its latest electric articulated bus, the B18.b, at Busworld Europe. The vehicle boasts impressive features, including a substantial battery capacity and swift charging capabilities.
The B18.b offers a hefty battery capacity of up to 746 kWh, ensuring a long range. It can carry up to 146 passengers comfortably, thanks to its Active Suspension Control. Powering this beast is the advanced BYD eBus Platform 3.0, which integrates thin Blade Batteries into the chassis via enhanced Cell-to-Chassis (CTC) technology.
Charging is a breeze with the B18.b. A single charging gun can pump in up to 300 kWh, while a pantograph can reach a maximum of 600 kWh. This allows for a quick recharge from 20% to 100% in under two hours. The bus offers an impressive range of 630 kilometres on a single charge.
The BYD B18.b, with its large battery capacity, swift charging, and comfortable ride, is set to make a significant impact on public transportation. Despite its size and power, it offers a smooth experience for both passengers and drivers. However, the official market launch date remains unannounced.
