Carleton University Upgrades Campus Audio for Hybrid Learning

Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, has equipped its 150-acre campus with advanced audio technology to support hybrid learning. The university, in collaboration with Diversified, has deployed 43 Sennheiser's TeamConnect Ceiling 2 (TCC 2) microphones across five buildings, including the Senate Room.

The Senate Room, a 49x33.5-foot space, was the first to receive an audacious audio system upgrade. Six TCC 2 microphones were installed in the skylights, enhancing audible quality without compromising the room's aesthetics. Armand Doucet, the university's AV specialist, oversaw the project and has since received positive feedback about the improved audio system.

Following the Senate Room's success, Doucet deployed a further 37 TCC 2 microphones across the campus. This expansion aims to facilitate hybrid learning in various spaces, totalling 43 microphones in five buildings. Sennheiser's TCC 2 technology was chosen for its adaptability, ease of use, and ability to capture audio from any point in the room. The guiding principle was to integrate technology seamlessly, ensuring consistent high-quality audio with minimal disruption to the spaces.

Carleton University's investment in Sennheiser's TCC 2 microphones has significantly improved audible quality across its campus, particularly in the Senate Room. This upgrade supports hybrid learning and aligns with the university's commitment to providing high-quality educational experiences for its students.
