Clara B. Arthur, a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience in financial services and technology, has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems Limited (GhIPSS). This appointment, effective September 1, 2025, marks a significant milestone for Ghana's digital payments industry.
Arthur, who succeeds Archie Hesse who served for over 17 years, brings a fresh strategic vision, leadership, and innovation to GhIPSS. Her extensive experience, which includes roles at Fidelity Bank, Ecobank, and international financial organizations, where she led digital and payment technology initiatives, is expected to significantly impact Ghana's digital payments space.
During her tenure as General Manager of Business Development at GhIPSS (2015-2020), Arthur steered the development of fintech solutions, demonstrating a deep sector knowledge and a proven track record in driving growth and innovation. Her expertise is likely to accelerate GhIPSS’s mission to build a robust, interoperable digital payments ecosystem in Ghana.
