Cobalt Digital to Showcase Simple ST 2110 Compatible Devices at IBC 2025 Conference

At this year's IBC (International Broadcasting Convention), taking place from 12th to 16th September at RAI Amsterdam, Cobalt Digital will be exhibiting a range of innovative products designed to simplify IP-based workflows and enhance networked media production and distribution.

Simplifying SMPTE ST 2110 Workflows

Cobalt Digital's SMPTE ST 2110 solutions aim to make the transition from SDI to IT/IP infrastructures smoother for broadcasters. The company will showcase a variety of products that support uncompressed media over IP networks, minimising configuration complexity and ensuring industry-standard interoperability.

One of the standout products is the ARIA OG-AUD4-DANTE bidirectional audio embedder/deembedder router card. This versatile device offers 12G, SDI, MADI, AES, and Dante inputs and outputs, making it an ideal choice for a wide range of broadcast applications.

Expanding IPMX Lineup

Recognising the growing adoption of IPMX (Internet Protocol Media Experience) for AV-over-IP, Cobalt Digital is expanding its IPMX product lineup. The new offerings aim to meet the evolving AV networking requirements in live production and media facilities, providing enhanced flexibility, plug-and-play ease, and compatibility within IP ecosystems.

The UltraBlue MV-SW Multiviewer, available as a turn-key server, will be on display. This versatile multiviewer supports all compressed flavours and uncompressed IP/SDI inputs, offering scalable output options. It also offers flexible audio routing, allowing users to mix SDI, ST 2110, and IPMX feeds within a single platform.

New Products at IBC 2025

Cobalt Digital will debut two new models at IBC 2025: the SAPPHIRE BBG-2110-4Hi/4Sio and SAPPHIRE BBG-2110-2Hi2Ho/4Sio. The SAPPHIRE devices deliver low-latency IP conversion with support for 10G/25G Ethernet, audio sample rate conversion, and asynchronous audio mixing.

In addition, Cobalt will introduce a new base model of its ARIA AUD-MON audio monitor with a single-button interface. This user-friendly device supports the same input options as existing units, including 2xSDI up to 12G, MADI, SFP for SDI over fiber, AES, balanced analog audio, and GPI for automation.

Plug and Play Solutions

Cobalt Digital's new "plug and play" solutions are designed to facilitate easy integration into modern IP-based broadcast environments. These solutions support SMPTE ST 2110 workflows and offer enhanced interoperability, scalability, and real-time media transport.

The UltraBlue Multiviewer, for instance, offers flexible audio routing with multiple options to suit every application. It can be directly deployed in an IPMX facility for local encoding, low-latency internet transport using RIST, or in traditional ASI workflows without separate gateway devices.
