Leapmotor Launches Electric SUV C10 Globally

Leapmotor, a Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker based in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, has launched its first global model, the C10, on March 2. The company held delivery ceremonies for the C10 in cities including Hangzhou, with the number of first deliveries not disclosed.

The Leapmotor C10 is an electric SUV available in both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) versions. The BEV powertrain delivers 160 kW and 320 Nm torque, offering a range of up to 420 km (WLTP) or 477 km (NEDC). The EREV versions come in three variants, with starting prices of RMB 135,800, RMB 145,800, and RMB 165,800 respectively, equivalent to approximately $18,800, $20,620, and $23,850 respectively. The BEV versions are offered in four variants, with starting prices of RMB 128,800, RMB 138,800, RMB 148,800, and RMB 168,800 respectively, which is approximately $17,920, $19,470, $20,990, and $24,290 respectively.

The C10 is the latest addition to the C-series models, following updates to existing models with lower prices. It features advanced technologies such as Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, Cell-to-Chassis (CTC) technology for battery integration, a panoramic glass roof with electric sunshade, and LEAP Pilot intelligent driver assistance with 12 high-precision ADAS sensors and 17 advanced driver assistance functions. The interior includes a 10.25-inch driver instrument display and a 14.6-inch high-definition central infotainment touchscreen. Safety features include autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, driver monitoring, and seven airbags. The materials inside are certified to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, and the car supports NFC and Bluetooth smartphone keys, app connectivity, and over-the-air (OTA) updates.

In terms of battery and warranty, the C10 comes with a comprehensive warranty of 7 years/160,000 km for the vehicle and 8 years/160,000 km for the high-voltage battery.

The C10 has appeared in the Australian market in 2025, positioning it as a competitively equipped electric SUV alongside rivals like the Kia EV5 and XPENG G6. Some versions include a range extender hybrid variant (REEV) with a 1.5L gasoline engine supplementing the electric drivetrain. The REEV version features more equipment such as 20-inch wheels, power tailgate, heated and ventilated seats, synthetic leather trim, ambient lighting, and air quality monitoring. It shares much of the electric C10’s safety and technology features.

However, no specific details about the overseas markets for the C10 were provided. The price range starts at a base price with options such as Premium Paint adding about AUD 990 including GST and LCT when applicable. Specific overseas market prices vary and were not detailed in the results, but the model has been released in markets like Australia by mid-2025.

In summary, the Leapmotor C10 is a technology-rich, mid-range electric SUV launched in overseas markets around 2025, with key strengths in battery range, fast charging, driver assistance, connectivity, and a strong warranty program. The REEV variant adds a petrol engine to extend range, appealing to buyers seeking additional flexibility.
