In a significant move to enhance mobile connectivity, Deutsche Telekom has expanded its mobile network coverage along the highways A4, A44, and A544 in the Aachen city region. This expansion aims to address the growing bandwidth demand and improve mobile connectivity for users traveling these routes.

The focus on these highways, which are key traffic arteries near Aachen, aligns with Deutsche Telekom's broader strategy to strengthen network performance in high-traffic areas. The expansion aims to ensure that both voice and data services remain stable for commuters and transport logistics.

The mobile network expansion addresses typical challenges such as signal dropouts and fluctuating data speeds on highways. It is part of Deutsche Telekom's ongoing steady network growth and raised guidance for 2025, which suggests active investments in mobile network infrastructure, including LTE and 5G upgrades, aimed at boosting coverage quality and bandwidth capacity in critical corridors like highways.

In Würselen, one existing mobile network site has been expanded with LTE, and a new site has been put into operation. This development has significantly improved indoor reception in Würselen. Katja Kunicke, the Deutsche Telekom spokesperson, confirmed these changes.

Deutsche Telekom currently operates 204 sites in the Aachen city region, and plans to expand 117 more sites with LTE or 5G in the near future. Landlords who offer space for new sites receive a long-term, location-appropriate rent. Interested landlords can contact Deutsche Funkturm at www.dfmg.de/standortangebot.

The mobile network expansion provides more bandwidth overall in Würselen, and the supply of households with fast mobile network in the Aachen city region is almost 100 percent. The mobile network in the district supports the Advanced Mobile Location (AML) emergency technology and the Cell Broadcast warning system.
