Jenoptik Expands Operations in Dresden with New Clean Room Factory
Jenoptik, a leading global technology group based in Jena, is set to boost its presence in Dresden, Germany, with the construction of a new clean room factory. The company has announced that it will invest more than 70 million euros in the new production site, which is being built in the Airportpark.
The new factory will consolidate Jenoptik's manufacturing in Dresden, which is currently spread over several smaller external locations. This expansion will create additional jobs, with the number of employees at the Dresden site expected to increase to more than 120. In recent months, Jenoptik has grown to nearly 90 employees at its Dresden site.
The topping-out crane has already been set on the new clean room factory, marking a significant milestone in the construction process. The interior fit-out of the building sections will begin after the topping-out ceremony.
The production in the new cleanroom factory is planned to start at the beginning of 2025. Initially, the production of sensors for the semiconductor equipment industry will commence, with the facility later intended for the manufacturing of various products.
The location of the new factory in the Airportpark may attract other businesses to the area, further boosting the local economy. It's worth noting that Jenoptik manufactures high-precision and micro-optics at Thuringian sites in Jena and Triptis, in Swiss Heerbrugg, and in Jupiter (Florida) and Huntsville (Alabama) in the USA.
Jenoptik, a company with a rich history and a strong commitment to innovation, is excited about this expansion. The new factory will undoubtedly contribute significantly to the company's growth and the development of Dresden's technology sector.
