WilmerHale Hosts Informative Webinar on Crypto Legislation

In a significant move, WilmerHale is set to host a webinar titled "Crypto Currently: Unpacking the GENIUS Act, CLARITY Act and Future of the Crypto Industry". This event, scheduled to take place soon, will delve into the intricacies of two key pieces of cryptocurrency legislation - the GENIUS Act and the CLARITY Act.

The GENIUS Act, signed into law on July 18, 2025, establishes a landmark stablecoin issuance and custody framework, marking a significant step forward in federal cryptocurrency legislation. The CLARITY Act, on the other hand, is currently pending before the Senate and proposes a regulatory framework for the SEC and CFTC market structure for digital commodities.

The webinar will offer valuable insights into these legislative developments, focusing on their implications for the crypto industry. It will cover the stablecoin issuance and custody framework established by the GENIUS Act, the market structure regulatory framework for digital commodities as proposed in the CLARITY Act, and broader policy insights, best practices, and practical implications for stakeholders in the crypto sector.

The session will be led by WilmerHale's partners and experts in blockchain, cryptocurrency, futures, derivatives, and public policy. These include Jeremy Moorehouse, Zachary Goldman, Matthew B. Kulkin, Megan O’Flynn, and Jeffrey Wieand. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions during the webinar.

It is important to note that regulators are not permitted to attend the event. This webinar is part of WilmerHale’s ongoing Crypto Currently Webinar Series, presented by their Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Working Group, aimed at helping companies navigate the evolving regulatory landscape of crypto.

The webinar's discussion will provide in-depth analysis and practical guidance on the following topics:

| Topic | Legislation | Status | |------------------------------------------|------------------------------|--------------------------------| | Stablecoin issuance and custody framework | GENIUS Act | Signed into law July 18, 2025 | | Market structure for digital commodities | CLARITY Act | Pending before the Senate | | Policy insights and practical implications| Both Acts | For crypto industry stakeholders|

This coverage underscores the future trajectory of the crypto regulatory environment and industry best practices in light of these new laws.
