Debut of innovation-centric subsidiary, LX Studio, on our site's platform
The global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has announced the launch of LX Studio, a US-based subsidiary dedicated to accelerating legal innovation and digital transformation.
According to Jeff Cody, the firm's US Managing Partner, LX Studio's primary focus is to provide innovative solutions that cater to the evolving expectations of legal service delivery. Christy Bentz, the Chief Client Value & Innovation Officer, further clarified that LX Studio's core offering remains legal advice, delivered in a more personalized and effective manner.
LX Studio is an integral part of the firm's global innovation and service delivery program, NRF Transform. Its purpose is to harness technology and innovation to deliver effective and efficient legal services, supporting clients in managing intellectual property and navigating competitive and regulatory landscapes.
Gina Shishima, the Chief Strategy and Operations Partner, emphasized that LX Studio is an initiative that allows the firm to offer new services in response to the unending evolution of the business and practice of law. LX Studio brings new opportunities for the firm to offer different services, supporting clients more efficiently.
LX Studio aims to empower clients by providing strategic IP knowledge, protecting intangible assets, mitigating risk, and adapting legal services through advanced tools and collaborative, sector-based approaches tailored to key industries such as technology, life sciences, energy, and financial institutions.
The subsidiary will collaborate with clients by understanding their business imperatives and helping craft IP strategies that align with their goals. It will also facilitate collaboration by leveraging its global reach and specialized knowledge to manage privacy, security, data protection, and related regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
LX Studio's business will include legal operations solutions for corporate legal departments. It will be home to the firm's award-winning privacy compliance tool suite, NT Analyzer. The goal is to offer clients more than just legal advice; it aims to provide problem-solving capabilities.
In addition, LX Studio will collaborate with legal technology companies and alternative legal services providers. While Gina Shishima did not specify if LX Studio will partner with or invest in novel technologies and alternative legal services offerings, it was previously mentioned as a possibility.
Christy Bentz emphasized the importance of meeting clients where they are, providing a platform for more intentional collaboration with clients on the 'how' of legal service delivery. LX Studio's focus is on supporting clients in achieving their legal and business objectives efficiently.
By capitalizing on the firm's tremendous resources and innovative focus, LX Studio functions as a legal innovation hub that combines law, technology, and business strategy to enhance client outcomes, promote efficient legal processes, and foster collaboration across sectors and geographies, thereby positioning clients for long-term success in dynamic markets.
