Delivery service Onvo promised to reimburse clients if the delivery duration surpasses four weeks

In the electric vehicle market, demand for Onvo's latest offerings, the L90 and L60 models, has been overwhelming. As a result, delivery times for these popular vehicles have been extended. To alleviate customer concerns, Onvo, a sub-brand of Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO), has announced a compensation plan for customers facing longer-than-expected delivery times.

The current delivery wait time for the Onvo L90 model is between 8 to 10 weeks, while for the L60 model it is approximately 4 to 6 weeks after order lock-in. Due to these extended wait times, Onvo is offering compensation to customers whose delivery wait exceeds 4 weeks. This compensation applies to both the L90 and the L60 models, particularly for L60 orders locked in after July 1, 2025.

The compensation offer is designed to thank customers and demonstrate confidence in Onvo’s delivery capabilities, as the company works to increase production and reduce wait times amid strong demand. For each additional day of waiting beyond delivery estimates, L90 customers will receive compensation worth RMB 50 in credit points. Similarly, L60 customers who locked in orders after July 1 will receive compensation if delivery wait exceeds four weeks.

The credit points are equivalent to RMB 50 ($7) and can be used for purchases in the Nio App or Onvo App online store. This initiative is a testament to Onvo's commitment to customer satisfaction, even in challenging circumstances.

Onvo has made adequate production preparations and is working closely with supply chain, manufacturing, and logistics partners to increase capacity. Despite these efforts, rapid order volume growth has caused these longer wait times.

As of today, over 4,000 units of the Onvo L90 have been delivered since deliveries began on August 1. The six-seat version of the L90 is currently being delivered, with the seven-seat version set to begin deliveries in late September.

In the weekly sales of large SUVs, the Onvo L90 ranked second during the week of August 4-10, behind the Huawei-backed Aito M8. The Aito M8, currently available only in extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) options, is set to launch its BEV variant later this month.

Onvo's sales performance is primarily due to vehicles produced before its official launch. The company is working tirelessly to deliver the remaining orders and reduce wait times. With its commitment to customer satisfaction and ongoing efforts to increase production, Onvo continues to be a significant player in the electric vehicle market.
