Disney Plus Hikes US, Germany Prices; More Regions Expected to Follow
Disney Plus is set to hike its subscription prices in the US and Germany, with other regions expected to follow. The increase comes just two years after the last price adjustment.
In the US, starting October 21, 2025, the price of Disney Plus will rise from $10 to $12 per month for the ad-supported tier, and from $16 to $19 per month for the premium tier without ads. This marks the third price increase since 2023.
Meanwhile, in Germany, Disney Plus will introduce a new standard plan with ads for 7 euros per month, while the standard plan without ads will cost 11 euros per month. The premium plan will remain at 16 euros per month. This change aligns with the global trend of offering an ad-supported tier.
ESPN Select, a sports streaming service owned by Disney, will also see a price increase from $11 to $12 per month. Hulu, another Disney-owned platform, will raise its ad-supported subscription from $10 to $12 per month.
These price increases reflect Disney's strategy to balance affordability with generating more revenue from its streaming services. With popular franchises like Star Wars and Marvel Cinematic Universe driving demand, Disney expects viewers to accept the higher prices. Further price adjustments in other regions are anticipated in the coming months.
