Dubai Welcomes AI Pinnacle at Championship's Final Round of Prompt Engineering Competition

Dubai, United Arab Emirates - The inaugural Dubai AI Week has commenced with a bang, featuring the flagship event, the Global Prompt Engineering Championship (GPEC), organised by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI), an initiative by the Dubai Future Foundation.

The week-long event, which aims to position AI as a driver for smarter governance and stronger economies, has attracted over 3,800 participants from 125+ countries. Among these participants, 24 global finalists have gathered in Dubai to compete in the GPEC tournament.

The competition, a showcase for generative AI minds, encompasses four categories: arts, video, gaming, and coding. In the coding category, competitors are developing smart solutions such as a tourist guide platform for Dubai, an AI-powered culinary app, and an emergency response app with an AI assistant.

Meanwhile, gaming participants are pushing the boundaries with innovative prototypes. These include a one-button control game, a stick-figure fighting game, and a 60-second world-saving challenge. The competition is being held at AREA 2071 in Emirates Towers, where the Global AI Retreat, Dubai AI Festival, and Machines Can See Summit are also taking place.

Finalists in the competition represent a diverse range of countries including Pakistan, Iraq, India, South Africa, Brazil, and the UAE. The prize pool for the competition stands at AED 1 million.

As the event unfolds, the world watches with bated breath, eager to see who will emerge victorious in the various categories and how these innovative ideas will shape the future of AI. While the results of GPEC 2025 are yet to be announced, one thing is certain - the future of AI is bright, and Dubai is at the forefront of this exciting revolution.
