Retail Match and E.ON Drive Infrastructure Collaborate to Expand Electric Vehicle Charging Points at Retail Properties

Retail Match GmbH and E.ON Drive Infrastructure have announced a partnership to expand electric vehicle (EV) charging points in retail properties across the country. The collaboration aims to create a more comprehensive and customer-friendly EV charging network integrated into retail environments.

Retail Match, a subsidiary of the ILG Group based in Munich, manages over 150 retail properties nationwide. By leveraging Retail Match's retail property network and E.ON Drive Infrastructure's expertise in charging technology, the partnership seeks to facilitate convenient EV charging for retail customers, align with sustainability goals, and contribute to the broader electrification of transport infrastructure.

E.ON Drive Infrastructure is responsible for planning, installation, operation, and billing of the charging infrastructure. The focus is on user-friendliness and state-of-the-art technology. Initially, around 350 charging points are planned, with an option for an additional 150. All charging points will be operated with 100 percent renewable energy.

The charging stations strengthen the attractiveness of retail locations, offering an additional incentive for supermarket operators using Retail Match's properties. A recent E.ON survey shows that 61 percent of electric vehicle drivers expect to use charging infrastructure at supermarkets. The publicly accessible charging stations contribute to clean mobility and the mobility transition.
