ElevenEs Unveils Edge574 Blade Cell: Next-Gen Battery for Electric Mobility

ElevenEs, a prominent European manufacturer of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, has introduced the Edge574 Blade Cell, a next-generation battery designed to transform electric mobility in Europe. Developed in collaboration with BMW and CATL, this new battery cell promises substantial improvements in energy density, safety, and longevity.

The Edge574 Blade Cell is engineered to prioritize fast charging, longevity, and efficiency. It boasts a 15% reduction in direct current internal resistance (DCIR) compared to its predecessor, enabling faster charging times. At 10°C, it can charge from empty to full in just 18 minutes, and even at 0°C, it takes only 25 minutes.

The cell's wide operating temperature range, from -30°C to 60°C, ensures optimal performance in diverse European conditions. It maintains nominal capacity up to 55°C, making it suitable for both EVs and industrial machines. The improved housing features a thinner, robust sheet metal design and larger terminals for higher current delivery.

In terms of charging speed, the Edge574 Blade Cell offers a 12-minute fast charge from 10% to 80% at temperatures above 25°C. Moreover, it supports a cycle life of at least 500,000 kilometers, demonstrating its durability and reliability.

The Edge574 Blade Cell, a result of BMW and CATL's collaboration with ElevenEs, marks a significant step forward in European electric mobility. With its enhanced energy density, safety features, and longer lifecycle, this new battery cell promises to drive a paradigm shift in the industry. Its fast charging capabilities, wide temperature range, and robust design make it an attractive option for both electric vehicles and industrial machines.
