Emesent's Hovermap Now Supports Freefly Astro Drone for Advanced Mapping
Emesent, a global leader in autonomous mapping technology, has announced support for the American-made Freefly Astro drone. The integration of Emesent's Hovermap LiDAR mapping and autonomy payload on Astro raises the bar for autonomy and mapping capabilities in challenging environments, as stated by Freefly Systems' Chief Revenue Officer, Matt Isenbarger.
Hovermap, Emesent's flagship product, enables quick, efficient, and safe 3D LiDAR data capture in physically challenging and GPS-denied environments. It can be deployed on drones, robots, vehicles, or handheld/backpack-mounted devices, making it versatile for various industries. These include mining, construction, public safety, oil and gas, and agriculture, among others.
Emesent's co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer, Dr Stefan Hrabar, expressed excitement about the Astro drone's capabilities combined with Emesent's technology. He highlighted the potential of this partnership in enhancing safety and efficiency in high-risk industries. For instance, 3D visualizations from Hovermap scans enable critical decisions in mining, construction, and public safety. Emesent's premium scanning model, Hovermap ST-X, will be showcased at the 2024 Geo Week exhibition, demonstrating support for Astro drone and other deployment options.
Emesent's Hovermap, now supported on the Freefly Astro drone, offers advanced mapping capabilities in challenging environments. This integration is expected to benefit various industries by improving safety, efficiency, and decision-making processes. The upcoming Geo Week exhibition in Denver, Colorado, will provide an opportunity to see the Hovermap ST-X in action, supporting the Astro drone and other deployment options.
