Enhanced automotive biometrics: Infineon unveils cutting-edge fingerprint sensors for heightened vehicle security.

Infineon Technologies AG, a leading provider of semiconductor solutions, has announced the launch of its new automotive-qualified fingerprint sensor ICs, the CYFP10020A00 and CYFP10020S00. These innovative sensors will be showcased at Infineon's global technology forum, OktoberTech™ 2024, taking place in Silicon Valley on 17 October.

The new sensors offer powerful fingerprint identification and authentication capabilities, making them ideal for in-vehicle personalization and payment authentication. The sensors' precision capacitive circuitry enables accurate capture of the ridge and valley patterns of a user's fingerprint.

The CYFP10020S00 sensor supports an operating temperature range of -40 to +105 °C, while the CYFP10020A00 sensor operates within a range of -40 to +85 °C. Both sensors detect finger touch-down and lift-off events, and optionally track the movement of the user's finger.

Infineon has partnered with Precise Biometrics for Biomatch algorithm software, further enhancing the sensors' capabilities. The sensors are also optimized for attaching to Infineon's TRAVEO T2G microcontroller family.

An evaluation kit (KIT-FPG1-T2G-B-E-2M) is available for these sensors, providing developers with a comprehensive tool to test and integrate the technology into their projects. Further information about these sensors can be found at www.infineon.com/psocfpg1.

The event where the sensors will be showcased, OktoberTech™ 2024, is a significant technology forum in the industry, taking place annually in Silicon Valley. This year's event promises to be an exciting opportunity to learn more about the latest advancements in technology and network with industry professionals.

The new fingerprint sensor ICs were developed by Cypress Semiconductor, and the technology will be showcased at Infineon's global technology forum. Infineon's partnership with Cypress Semiconductor underscores its commitment to delivering cutting-edge technology solutions to its customers.

With the launch of these new fingerprint sensors, Infineon continues to push the boundaries of what is possible in the automotive industry, providing innovative solutions that enhance safety, security, and convenience for drivers and passengers alike.
