Enhanced elegance: Halcyon strengthens the might of a conventional Rolls-Royce Corniche, amping up its power.
The iconic Rolls-Royce Corniche of the 1970s has been given a new lease of life, transforming into an electric grand tourer by Halcyon. This remastered classic is set to hit the roads in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Modern Comfort and Technology
The remastered Corniche offers a range of modern comfort features, including heated and ventilated seats, automatic climate control, an upgraded sound system, and a hidden infotainment system. It also boasts semi-active suspension, upgraded brakes, and three selectable drive modes: Drive, Spirited, and Touring.
Design and Customisation
The first finished remastered Corniche, named "Highland Heather", showcases a Purple Moorland exterior and a white-and-purple interior. Halcyon is also exploring the possibility of a custom Louis Vuitton luggage set for future builds. Each customer can personalise their Corniche with an extensive options list, with one customer even requesting a two-seat layout with a sculpted rear cabin.
Performance and Charging
Powered by an electric drive technology produced by Evice Technologies, the remastered Corniche delivers up to 373kW of power. It supports up to 230kW rapid charging and promises whisper-quiet cruising, trading the old-school burble for electric hush. Halcyon claims that the conversion does not add any weight over the petrol model.
Production and Pricing
Halcyon plans to produce 60 bespoke, remastered Corniche convertibles. The price starts at £400,000 (over NZ$900,000) before taxes and the cost of the donor car. Deliveries are scheduled from late 2026.
The Donor Car Factor
The cost of the donor car can add over $130k depending on its condition, bringing the total cost well north of half a million. Each remastered Corniche requires over 2000 hours of restoration.
In conclusion, the remastered Rolls-Royce Corniche offers a blend of classic elegance and modern technology, promising a unique and luxurious driving experience. With its range of customisation options and whisper-quiet electric powertrain, this reborn grand tourer is sure to turn heads on the road.
