ESA Launches NTN Forum for 5G/6G Connectivity, Appoints Sateliot CTO
The European Space Agency (ESA) has launched the Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) Forum, aiming to foster collaboration in non-terrestrial network technologies for 5G Advanced and 6G networks. Marco Guadalupi, Sateliot's chief technology officer, has been appointed to the forum's steering board, highlighting Sateliot's key role in shaping NTN solutions.
The NTN Forum comprises 288 professionals from 144 organizations across 31 countries, representing telecommunications and space technology industries. It aims to implement non-terrestrial network solutions, crucial for extending connectivity, especially in hard-to-reach regions, by integrating satellite and ground-based infrastructure.
Guadalupi will contribute to guiding the development of NTNs as part of the steering board. His appointment underscores Sateliot's commitment to driving innovation in the NTN space. The forum will serve as a hub for innovation and collaboration, accelerating the adoption of transformative NTN technologies for 5G and 6G networks.
Non-terrestrial networks are expected to play a critical role in providing global coverage as the telecommunications industry transitions toward 5G Advanced and prepares for 6G. With the NTN Forum and key players like Sateliot driving development, the future of connectivity looks set to reach new heights.
