Ethereum Cost Remains Close to $3,000 Amidst Surge in ETF Investments Reaching New Peak Levels
In the world of cryptocurrency, Ethereum (ETH) is currently experiencing a surge in institutional and corporate adoption, driving a bullish outlook for the digital asset.
As of mid-2025, Ethereum ETFs have gained significant traction, managing approximately $12 billion in assets under management. Major financial firms like Fidelity, BlackRock, and VanEck have launched these ETFs, making Ethereum accessible to traditional investors such as pension funds, family offices, and sovereign wealth funds. This long-term accumulation, combined with reduced circulating supply on exchanges, has contributed to price stability.
Prominent public companies are also accumulating Ethereum as a treasury asset. SharpLink Gaming (Nasdaq: SBET), chaired by Joseph Lubin, has amassed over 280,000 ETH, overtaking the Ethereum Foundation as the largest ETH holder. Bit Digital has dramatically increased its ETH holdings to over 100,000 ETH, pivoting from Bitcoin to an Ethereum-focused treasury strategy. These moves have boosted both corporate valuations and ETH prices, signaling strong corporate confidence in Ethereum’s future.
Ethereum remains the dominant platform for decentralized finance (DeFi), with a total value locked (TVL) of $72.64 billion. Layer-2 scaling solutions such as Optimism, Arbitrum, and Base are also expanding, improving transaction speeds and reducing fees, which fosters more adoption and network usability.
Analysts and models indicate optimistic valuations for Ethereum in 2025. Token Metrics and market analysts predict a range of $5,000 - $10,000, driven by scalability, ETF inflows, institutional buying, and DeFi growth. Consensys’ “cost-to-corrupt” valuation model suggests a value of around $4,900, tied to network security needs considering stablecoins and tokenized assets adoption. Market price observations for July 2025 suggest Ethereum could be valued around $3,350-$3,455, supported by ETF inflows, corporate treasury buys, and zkEVM milestones.
Further extended forecasts by Consensys estimate Ethereum could reach as high as $15,800 by 2028 if tokenized assets and DeFi continue expanding robustly, securing trillions in on-chain assets.
Changelly predicts an average ETH price of $3,317.07 for July 2025, suggesting a potential return on investment of -7.9% from current market levels. In relative terms, Ethereum's inflows over the past 12 weeks account for 19.5% of the total assets under management for all global Ether funds.
Blockchain Technology Consensus Solutions (BTCS) expanded its ETH holdings to 29,122 ETH this month, while Ethereum's trading volume reached $32.34 billion over the past week, showing a 95.12% increase. So far this year, Ethereum products have seen over $4 billion in inflows.
As the trend of corporate treasury adoption for Ethereum gains momentum, mirroring what happened with Bitcoin in previous years, the bullish outlook for Ethereum in 2025 remains strong, with price forecasts ranging from conservative estimates of $2,429-$3,023 to bullish projections of up to $6,507. ETH prices topped $3,000 for the first time since February on July 11.
