The world of classic gaming is expanding once again with the addition of several Game Boy Advance (GBA) games to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. These beloved titles, now available since February 2023, are exclusive to Expansion Pack subscribers.
Among the new additions are notable games such as Fire Emblem, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Four Swords, and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team. The collection also includes fan-favourites like Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, Metroid Fusion, and Golden Sun.
In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team, players wake up as a Pokémon in a strange world, setting out on rescue missions in a Pokémon-themed world affected by natural disasters. The game is one of the many rescue-themed titles in the collection, where players can speak and interact with other Pokémon.
To access these GBA games, a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription is necessary. This membership also provides access to N64, Sega Genesis, and GameCube games on Nintendo Switch, as well as select DLC for games like Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Splatoon 2 at no additional cost.
A Nintendo Switch Online membership (sold separately) and a Nintendo Account are required for online features. The games can be accessed with the Game Boy Advance - Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack app, and online features, Save Data Cloud, and Nintendo Switch Online smartphone app features are available in compatible games.
