Eye care industry prepares for 2025 with Mr Spex's training and future investments.

Mister Spex, one of Germany's leading opticians, is set to train 47 new apprentices on August 1, 2025. This leading German optician, known for its seamless integration of online and offline presence, innovative technologies, comprehensive range, and excellent customer service, is committed to making the spectacle purchase a unique and enjoyable experience.

The apprenticeship program, part of Mister Spex's long-term strategy, is a structured and comprehensive initiative built on three key pillars: practical in-store experience, intensive hands-on training in company workshops, and theoretical education at vocational schools.

Apprentices spend about 14 weeks per year in workshops focusing on technical skills without sales pressure, supported by a structured in-house training plan and tailored exam preparation. This program offers options for part-time training or shortening the apprenticeship. Since its inception, 75% of apprentices secure employment after completing the program.

Heinzpeter Mandl, Executive Vice President Retail at Mister Spex, acknowledges the significance of skilled labor shortages in optometry. He states that Mister Spex is addressing this challenge with a commitment to training.

The training provided by Mister Spex contributes not just to the company's future, but to the entire optometry industry. Mister Spex operates five training workshops in Berlin, Münster, Reutlingen, Mannheim, and Cologne.

Mister Spex employs over 120 highly qualified opticians who ensure top-notch optical service in the stores. The company also places great value on continuous professional development, supporting opticians with targeted training up to master level.

This program represents a significant development in optometry training by integrating modern corporate resources with vocational education, supporting both individual career growth and broader industry innovation. With advanced technologies such as digital 2D-to-3D tools for frame fitting to intelligent browsing functionalities, Mister Spex sets new standards in the optics industry.

Since 2016, Mister Spex has trained a total of 257 trainees, with 223 in optometry. The focus of Mister Spex is to make the spectacle purchase a unique shopping experience that is simple, transparent, and enjoyable. This commitment to customer service, coupled with its investment in training and development, positions Mister Spex as a leading optical expert both online and in-store.
