Gathering at TribalNet Conference to explore cutting-edge tech in the gaming sector
2024 TribalNet Conference & Tradeshow Emphasizes Technology Transformation in Indian Country
The 2024 TribalNet Conference & Tradeshow, scheduled for September 14-18 in Reno, USA, is set to focus heavily on technology transformation in tribal casinos and Indian Country operations.
This year's conference promises nearly 40 sessions across seven educational tracks, covering a wide range of topics. Key topics include General Technology, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence (AI) Revolution, Leadership/Executive development, Tribal Governance and Operations, Gaming technology and management, and other tracks tailored to the unique challenges and opportunities in Indian Country.
The sessions aim to provide tribal government and casino technology professionals with insights, tools, and partnerships to accelerate digital innovation, cybersecurity readiness, and operational excellence. Mike Caputo's presentation, "Real AI – How Are They Using AI in Indigenous Enterprises Today," is an example of the practical AI applications that will be discussed.
The conference also places a significant emphasis on the integration of cutting-edge technologies such as AI and cybersecurity within tribal governance, casino operations, and Indigenous business frameworks, supporting sustainable and innovative economic development in Indian Country.
Tribal enterprises are already using AI efficiently, according to Mike Day, executive director of TribalHub. The two-day tradeshow floor will showcase 250 technology vendors that are already working with tribes and tribal enterprises. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about solutions and technologies that other tribes are using, which could transform the way their tribes operate.
The gaming track will include gaming system vendors to discuss their vision for the future. A gaming session is dedicated to efficiencies and lowering costs in back-of-house technologies. The leadership track includes general managers from casinos, and executives from Aristocrat, IGT, Light & Wonder, and CasinoTrac will be part of the conference.
The advisory boards are leaders across tribal nations and play a significant role in choosing conference sessions. The conference brings together IT professionals, gaming and hospitality executives, healthcare teams, and industry partners for education and networking.
Cybersecurity continues to pose a significant threat to tribal gaming, with bad actors using AI tools and becoming more sophisticated. The conference emphasizes the importance of being prepared for AI and cybersecurity threats in tribal gaming. There will be a session on emerging tech in gaming, and the sessions on artificial intelligence will discuss the building blocks and how to release AI in an organization.
More than 700 attendees and about 1,500 people in total will be at the conference. The TribalNet Conference & Tradeshow is an excellent opportunity for tribal enterprises to learn from each other and from technology vendors, and to network with other professionals in the industry.
