Genesis Unveils Real-Life G90 Coupe, Aims to Challenge European Luxury

Genesis has unveiled real-life images and video footage of the G90 Coupe, officially known as the X Gran Coupe Concept, confirming it's a fully functioning vehicle with a drivetrain. This marks a significant step for the brand in redefining Korean luxury on the global stage.

The X Gran Coupe Concept is Genesis' first near-luxury sports coupe, following an announcement in 2015 and a concept car in 2016 that didn't make it to production. The side profile features a widened fender design and a low-slung roofline, enhancing its presence and securing ample headroom for rear passengers.

The interior is derived from the G90, with an elegant mix of green and tan premium leather, olive wood inlays, and custom ambient lighting. The front seats integrate belt-in-seat structures, while the rear benefits from dedicated air vents and an integrated rear display.

Hyundai, the company behind the Genesis brand, is currently filming the X Gran Coupe Concept in Italy. If launched, this serious luxury coupe offering would challenge established European players in the ultra-luxury grand touring coupe segment. The development of a fully functional prototype suggests that the X Gran Coupe Concept could evolve into a production-ready luxury coupe, expanding Genesis' model range.
