GeoOrbital Pitches Self-Powered Electric Wheel on Shark Tank

Entrepreneurs Michael Burtov and Dakota Decker, creators of GeoOrbital, a self-powered electric wheel that transforms any bicycle into an electric bike, appeared on Shark Tank seeking $500,000 for a 5% stake in their company.

The innovative GeoOrbital wheel is made from lightweight, durable aerospace-grade aluminum and features flat-proof tires. It can be easily clipped onto the front wheel of a regular bicycle, requiring no professional tools or experience. In under a minute, users can boost their bike's speed up to 20 miles per hour using the wheel's high-powered motor.

The portable battery in the wheel includes a USB outlet, allowing cyclists to charge other electronics on the go. The electric wheel provides almost 500 watts of power, making it easy to conquer hills without breaking a sweat. The range varies between 12 to 27 miles without pedaling, and with pedaling, users can extend the range up to 60 miles.

Despite its promising potential, GeoOrbital has faced financial difficulties and operational setbacks in recent years. The company has since scaled down its activities and focused on restructuring efforts.

GeoOrbital offers a convenient and eco-friendly solution for bike enthusiasts looking to upgrade their ride. With its easy installation, impressive speed boost, and long-range capabilities, the electric wheel has the potential to revolutionize urban cycling. However, the company's past challenges serve as a reminder of the obstacles faced by innovative startups in the market.
