Google Web Version of Keep Now Supports Enhanced Text Formatting Features
Google Rolls Out Rich Text Formatting to Keep Web Client
Google has commenced the rollout of a long-anticipated update for Google Keep's web client, introducing rich text formatting (RTF) akin to the Android app. The feature, which has been available on Android devices since October 2023, allows for text customization such as bold, italic, underline, heading styles, and clear formatting.
As the feature gradually rolls out, users across Google Workspace, Workspace Individual subscribers, and personal Google account holders are expected to gain access to the new formatting options in the coming days or weeks. The update is accessible through an underlined "A" button in the web editor's bottom-left corner.
Google Keep's RTF for the web version introduces the ability to add text through bolding, underlining, italicizing, and heading styles. This long-awaited feature is an extension of the capabilities already available on Google's Android client.
As with most staged rollouts, the feature is still in the process of reaching every user. However, Google indicates that the rollout should be completed within a matter of weeks, ensuring access for all Google Keep web client users.
While the specifics regarding the syncing of structured notes between the Android client and web version remain unclear, it is encouraging to see Google finally bringing these features to the web version of Google Keep. This addition comes after Google Keep gained notable features last year, including support for handwritten notes on select Android phones with stylus support.
