Green, Digital, and Innovative Industrial Blueprint Daybreaks in Biñong
Binh Duong Province Elevates Industrial Development with Green, Innovative Parks
Binh Duong, Vietnam - Shifting from decades of traditional industrial growth, the southern province is implementing a fresh strategy centered on innovation, green technology, and digital transformation. This strategy is highlighting the development of second-generation industrial zones, or "Industrial Parks 2.0."
Located beyond simple factory spaces, these parks integrate high-tech manufacturing, smart urban services, logistics, and environmentally sound practices, serving as a comprehensive hub for modern industry. One such upcoming next-generation industrial park is VSIP No. 2, developed in partnership with Singapore.
During a recent meeting, Binh Duong authorities shared this vision with Singaporean Ambassador to Vietnam, Jaya Ratnam, who expressed his full support and pledged to discuss the proposal with the Singaporean government.
Nguyen Van Loi, Secretary of the Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee, described VSIP No. 2 as an industrial park that will integrate green technology, featuring solar power, renewable energy, water recycling, and waste treatment. The goal is not only economic growth but creating a responsible industrial ecosystem aligned with global sustainability standards.
Ambassador Ratnam commended Binh Duong's forward-thinking approach, noting that it sets a pioneering example for sustainable growth aligning with Singapore's green strategy. He urged both Binh Duong and the project's developer, Becamex IDC, to finalize detailed plans for accelerated implementation.
The VSIP project has been a symbol of Vietnam-Singapore economic cooperation for years, comprising 18 industrial parks across the country, spanning over 10,000 hectares. Binh Duong was the original birthplace of the VSIP concept, hosting three such parks that will guide the next phase of industrial development.
Beyond VSIP No. 2, Binh Duong is progressing multiple other large-scale projects. In mid-May, construction began on Cay Truong Industrial Park (700 ha) and the expansion of Bau Bang Industrial Park (380 ha), both planned with smart infrastructure, green logistics, and ecological zoning.
Additionally, the province is developing the Binh Duong Information Technology Park, a 15.47-ha site aiming to become a regional center for digital R&D. The project is focused on modern infrastructure, high-quality human resources, and cutting-edge technologies.
The new industrial zones are being designed with zero-emission goals, featuring renewable energy systems, closed-loop water recycling, and waste management processes, all adhering to international green industry standards.

While not directly mentioned in the information available, Binh Duong's Industrial Parks 2.0 generally align with Vietnam's national strategies for industrial growth through modernization, sustainability, and international integration. The province aims to manage 42 industrial parks by 2030, covering over 20,000 ha, including 10 newly developed eco-industrial parks and the green transformation of existing ones.
Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh praised Binh Duong's pioneering vision, advocating that it could serve as a model for other provinces to study and replicate. From an initial focus on low-cost industrial zones, Binh Duong is now shaping a new identity as an innovation-driven, environmentally conscious, and future-ready industrial powerhouse.
