Haizea Group & Faccin Partner to Revolutionize XXL Monopile Production
Haizea Group, a leading manufacturer of offshore wind foundations, has signed a long-term agreement with Faccin, a global specialist in rolling technology. The partnership aims to develop innovative solutions for automated radius measurement and improved tack welding, further cementing Haizea's position as a key player in the renewable energy industry.
Haizea Group has expanded its production portfolio to include XXL monopiles, essential components for next-generation offshore wind farms. These massive structures, measuring over 15 meters in diameter, require rolling cones and shells more than 4 meters wide and 130 mm thick, with stringent circularity tolerances.
Faccin, renowned for its robust machine design and integrated approach, was chosen by Haizea for its tailor-made solutions. Faccin recommended a fully automatic 4-roll machine and a 3-roll variable geometry machine for serial production and calibration. Haizea has already added a third Faccin 4-roll machine during Phase 2 of its plant expansion due to the success of the initial two machines.
Siemens Gamesa, a major player in the wind industry, selected Haizea Group as a partner for the manufacturing of XXL monopiles. Haizea's extensive experience, advanced technology, and proven quality in producing large-scale offshore wind foundation components were key factors in this decision.
Haizea's Chief Technical Officer, Jos Buijks, has expressed the company's ambition to lead offshore tower and foundation production, with innovation and partnerships like this one driving its growth.
Through its partnership with Faccin, Haizea Group is set to revolutionize the production of XXL monopiles, further solidifying its position as a reference point in the renewable energy industry. With world-class rolling technology and automated solutions, Haizea is well-equipped to meet the growing demand for offshore wind foundations.
