Hitachi Rail Delivers 300th Train to UK Passengers

Hitachi Rail has reached a significant milestone, delivering its 300th train to UK passengers. The latest addition is the Class 807 for Amtrak West Coast, marking a decade of service since the first Class 395 Javelin in 2009.

Hitachi's success is evident in its wide reach across the UK. Its trains operate across 10 fleets, demonstrating reliability rates three times higher than the industry average. This achievement is attributed to strategic partnerships and quality industry collaborations, according to Jim Brewin, Chief Director of UK & Ireland Hitachi Rail.

Hitachi's impact extends beyond train delivery. Its maintenance operations contribute a substantial £500m gross value add to the UK economy annually. This is supported by a workforce of 2,100 high-skilled employees spread across 16 sites nationwide.
