In a significant move, Huawei's executive director and chairman of the consumer business group, Richard Yu, officially unveiled the Shangjie brand on April 16, marking the entry of the tech giant into the automotive industry. The first model from this joint venture with SAIC, the Shangjie H5, is set to be launched in September 2025.

**Key Specifications of the Shangjie H5**

The Shangjie H5 is designed to appeal to a younger demographic and will feature Huawei's latest ADS 4 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) technology. The vehicle measures 4,780 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width, and 1,664 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,840 mm. It comes standard with a single motor, with the BEV variant boasting a peak motor power of 180 kW, while the EREV variant has a motor with a peak power of 150 kW.

**Battery and Charging**

The BEV variant of the H5 uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries supplied by CATL, offering a CLTC range of up to 655 km. The EREV variant, on the other hand, offers an overall range exceeding 1,300 kilometers, thanks to a 1,498 ml engine as a range extender.

**Model Variants**

The H5 will be available in two versions: a Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) and an Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV). The H5 BEV has three product model numbers: CSA6489YBEV1, CSA6489YBEV2, and CSA6489YFSHEV1, while the EREV version has the model number CSA6489YBEV3.

**Pricing**

While the pricing details of the Shangjie H5 are yet to be announced, earlier local media reports suggest the starting price for the new brand's first model could be around RMB 150,000 ($20,890).

**Regulatory Compliance**

The Shangjie H5 has completed its final major regulatory procedures, paving the way for its launch in September. The company began teasing its first model earlier this month, sharing official images.
