Huawei & SAIC's Shangjie H5 EV Launches With Impressive Range, 50K+ Preorders
Huawei and SAIC's joint venture, Shangjie, has launched its first electric vehicle, the H5. This midsize crossover offers impressive range and technology, starting at RMB 169,800 ($23,738).
The H5 boasts the latest version of Huawei's Advanced Driving System and HarmonyOS. The top-end all-electric model can travel up to 655 kilometers (407 miles) on a single charge.
The hybrid version ups the ante, offering a combined range of 1,360 kilometers (845 miles) with its extended-range capability. Despite its competitive pricing, the H5 outpaces Advance Auto's standard-range Model Y in range, with a price tag RMB 93,700 ($13,162) lower.
The H5's success is evident in its preorders. Within 18 hours of unveiling, Huawei and SAIC received over 50,000 orders, demonstrating strong consumer interest in the vehicle.
The Shangjie H5, a product of Huawei and SAIC's collaboration, is poised to make waves in the electric vehicle market. With its long range, advanced technology, and competitive pricing, it has already garnered significant interest from consumers.
