Hyundai Expands Access to Tesla's Supercharger Network for Eligible Owners

Hyundai electric vehicle (EV) owners in the United States can now access Tesla's extensive Supercharger network, thanks to a new adapter program. This initiative enables access to over 20,000 Tesla Superchargers nationwide using a North American Charging Standard (NACS) adapter.

The program is available for eligible Hyundai EV owners who purchased or leased their vehicles on or before January 31, 2025. Hyundai offers a free authorized adapter for these owners through the MyHyundai website. However, the availability and specifics of distribution may vary depending on the vehicle model and the program's terms.

For new models like the 2025 Ioniq 5, which come with built-in NACS capability, owners can directly access Tesla Superchargers without needing an adapter, enhancing charging convenience.

The move is a significant step in Hyundai's broader strategy to improve EV adoption in the U.S. By integrating NACS compatibility, Hyundai is effectively doubling the fast-charging options available to its customers.

Hyundai customers will also benefit from special discounted charging rates and incentives for home charging solutions. The company is ramping up domestic EV and battery production in Savannah, Georgia, and is investing in the IONNA high-speed charging network to enhance public charging infrastructure.

The new CCS-to-NACS adapter is compatible with Hyundai's advanced e-GMP high-voltage platform and is designed for Hyundai KONA Electric, IONIQ Electric hatchback, IONIQ 5, and IONIQ 6 vehicles.

Hyundai Motor Canada plans to announce its own strategy for NACS access later this year. Meanwhile, Hyundai is notifying eligible owners via email starting the week of April 7, with instructions on how to claim their complimentary adapter.

More information can be found on Hyundai's official website, which will go live on April 1, 2025. For further queries, customers can contact Hyundai at 1-800-633-5151.
