Hyundai's AutoEver software platform receives elite worldwide safety accolade across its entire vehicle range
Hyundai AutoEver's Mobilgene Classic 2.0 Achieves ASIL-D Certification
Hyundai AutoEver, a subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Group, has announced that its automotive software platform, Mobilgene Classic 2.0, has secured ASIL-D certification. This achievement signifies that the software system meets the stringent safety requirements essential for critical vehicle functions.
ASIL, or automotive safety integrity level, is a global standard that evaluates the functional safety of electrical and electronic systems in vehicles. The International Organization for Standardization defines ASIL-D as a level with requirements signifying that the system is extremely unlikely to fail or cause accidents even in the event of malfunction.
Mobilgene Classic 2.0 comprises 63 modules, each playing a vital role in functions such as data transmission, diagnostics, and hardware communication. The stable performance of each module is essential for the safety and reliability of the overall vehicle software system.
The stable performance of Mobilgene Classic 2.0 is particularly crucial in supporting highly safety-critical vehicle control systems. These include advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), autonomous driving modules, or powertrain controls, where failure could result in severe consequences.
With the ASIL-D certification, Mobilgene Classic 2.0 is expected to be deployed in safety-critical domains of Hyundai vehicles that require compliance with rigorous safety standards for both passenger and operational safety. This enables secure and reliable vehicle functions.
Ryu Seok-moon, Director of Hyundai AutoEver's Software Platform Business Division, stated that the ASIL-D certification reflects over 20 years of the company's expertise in in-house automotive software development. Hyundai AutoEver had previously received ASIL-D certification for 8 modules of Mobilgene Classic 2.0 in 2021.
This four-year development process culminated in Det Norske Veritas, an international certification body, providing the certification for Mobilgene Classic 2.0. Hyundai AutoEver's separate software platform, Mobilgene Adaptive, also achieved ASIL-D certification earlier this year.
Director Ryu Seok-moon also expressed intentions to continue enhancing Hyundai AutoEver's competitiveness in the software-defined vehicle era. However, without access to detailed official documentation or announcements, precise functions and applications specific to Mobilgene Classic 2.0 post-ASIL-D certification cannot be confirmed.
For exact and detailed information, checking Hyundai AutoEver’s official communications or approaching their technical releases after the maintenance downtime would be advisable.
- The ASIL-D certified Mobilgene Classic 2.0 software platform from Hyundai AutoEver, a subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Group, can now be deployed in various sectors, such as finance, transportation, and technology, where safety-critical vehicle control systems are employed, including automotive applications.
- Hyundai AutoEver's Software Platform Business Division Director, Ryu Seok-moon, aims to leverage the ASIL-D certification of Mobilgene Classic 2.0 to strengthen their competitiveness in the future, particularly in the software-defined vehicle era, which encompasses industries like automotive, technology, finance, and transportation.
