📣 Hey there! 👋

Starting today and in the upcoming weeks, the MEG, in partnership with C-Trace, is revolutionizing waste management in the city by digitizing the process of yellow bin collection. So from 6 am to 3 pm, each of the 33,200 city bins will be graced with a transponder chip, forming the city's very own digital waste battalion! 💡🗑

During these hours, the friendly folks from C-Trace will capacitate each bin with a 16-digit digital ID, stored snugly in its new transponder chip. With this digital pedigree, emptying bins will no longer be a mystery, but a digitally-recorded, smooth-as-silk process. 🚀📚

Transponders, huh? Worry not! Older bins won't feel left out: an existing "chip nest" on the underside of the bin edge will host the small green chip. As for those vintage models, don't you worry, they'll get their chance too! A tiny hole will be drilled into the handlebar, and just like that, a new chip will be installed, upgrading your bin to the digital age! 🛠️🌟

Landlords and homeowners, buckle up, a letter from the MEG will be heading your way soon, detailing the smart bin transformation process step-by-step. This will also cover the essential task of attaching a clear address label to your bin, crucial for the successful navigation of the city's digital waste fleet. 📝🏡

But what happens to bins without this tech upgrade? Starting September 1st, those left out will find their waste services withdrawn, as the MEG has declared. 🚫🗑️

So, folks, get ready to join the city's digital bin brigade! With a little help from our MEG and C-Trace, we're moving towards a more efficient, tech-savvy, and smart waste disposal system!

Oh, and just in case you're wondering, these digital tracking systems typically use sensors, RFID tags, or GPS to monitor the movement and status of waste bins, sending data to a central server or cloud service for analysis and management. Improved waste collection efficiency, reduced costs, and an enhanced environment are some of the benefits we can expect! 🌍📊

Till next time, keep it clean! 🛁♻️💚
