In the ever-evolving world of artificial intelligence (AI), a new trend is emerging that is turning traditional career paths on their head. According to reports from The Wall Street Journal, companies such as Scale AI, Databricks, and Google-backed startup CTGT are actively seeking out "AI-native" specialists for leadership positions.

This shift is particularly evident in the workforce at Scale AI, where approximately 15% of employees are under the age of 25, with fresh graduates starting at a staggering $200,000 per year. Remarkably, this figure equates to around $170,000 euros.

The rapid rise of the AI field is based less on years of work experience and more on practical skills and impact. This is exemplified by the case of CTGT, a startup specializing in security and risk software for enterprises, where the founders, including co-founder Cyril Gorlla, who was just 23 years old at the time of reporting, place a strong emphasis on young talent. The average employee age at CTGT is a mere 21.

Cyril Gorlla is not an exception. He is joined by other young leaders in the AI field, with some employees, even with just two years of work experience, including stock packages, earning over $1 million (around $860,000 euros) annually.

The job market for new AI graduates is experiencing a real career boom. Applications from young talents, including 16-year-olds with scientific publications, are becoming more common, not only for CTGT but also for other leading AI companies.

This trend is also reflected in the job market for machine learning specialists. People with AI experience are promoted to leadership positions about twice as fast as their colleagues in other tech areas. Machine learning specialists are in high demand and are often paid exceptionally well, with starting salaries exceeding $200,000 per year.

The CEO of Databricks, Ali Ghodsi, even stated that young people under 25 can earn a million dollars in the AI field. This assertion is supported by the findings of Anil Gupta, a professor at the University of Maryland, who noted a significant difference in salary between jobs as a machine learning engineer and a software engineer.

Between 2024 and 2025, starting salaries in the AI field increased by around 12%. Ashli Shiftan, HR director at Scale AI, stated that they want to hire "AI-native specialists" and many of these candidates are just starting their careers.

In conclusion, the AI field is offering unprecedented opportunities for young talent. With its rapid growth and high demand for practical skills, the AI industry is changing the game for career prospects, providing a promising future for the next generation of tech leaders.
