Inquiry on the Absence of Jeep Gladiator 4xe Hybrid Model from Market
Jeep Gladiator 4xe Release Date and Updates
The Jeep Gladiator, a popular pickup truck that sells as much as one unit for every three Wranglers, is set to get a new addition to its lineup: the plug-in hybrid Gladiator 4xe. However, the official release date for this model remains uncertain.
Initially announced by Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa for a 2025 release, the Gladiator 4xe has been somewhat delayed and is currently "missing in action" in Jeep's lineup as of mid-2025.
Recent reviews of the 2025 Gladiator indicate that the 4xe variant is expected to be released later in the 2025 model year. The enhancements in the Gladiator 4xe hybrid system are expected to be comparable to those in the Wrangler 4xe hybrid system.
In early August 2025, the 2026 Jeep Gladiator 4xe hybrid was publicly revealed in media coverage, suggesting an imminent launch or availability. As a result, it is likely that the official release of the Jeep Gladiator 4xe will coincide with or just precede the 2026 model year, around the second half of 2025 or shortly thereafter.
Confirmed pricing and exact availability for the Gladiator 4xe remain pending from Jeep.
Meanwhile, the Wrangler 392 will return for at least one more model year, and Jeep is planning to release a Hemi-powered Gladiator "392" model. However, no official timeline has been given for its release.
The Gladiator, often considered an afterthought by many, including Jeep, faces competition from volume-oriented midsize pickups like the Ford Ranger, Chevy Colorado, and Toyota Tacoma. Interestingly, the Gladiator holds its own against the GMC Canyon in sales, without the benefit of a V8 or a plug-in hybrid.
The sales data suggests that the Gladiator and the GMC Canyon are the only upmarket offerings in their segment. As of 2025, Jeep is beating GMC in sales for the Gladiator and Canyon models.
Despite its popularity, the Gladiator's cramped cabin and cost may be factors in its perceived lesser importance. The Gladiator may not be every enthusiast's preferred choice, similar to the Comanche or Scrambler.
The announcement of the Hemi-powered Gladiator "392" model was buried in an unrelated media preview, while no information has been provided about a V8 or plug-in hybrid version of the Gladiator.
As for the Gladiator 4xe, the LinkedIn post announcing the model for 2025 is still live, keeping the anticipation alive among Jeep enthusiasts.
