Intermodal Tank Containers Improvements in 2025: Lamilux Focuses on Weight Reduction, Stability, and Durability

**Lamilux Unveils Revolutionary GRP Solutions for Tank Container Cladding at Transport Logistic 2025**

At this year's Transport Logistic in Munich, Lamilux Composites is showcasing its latest innovations in tank container cladding. The company's booth can be found in Hall B4, Stand 29.

Lamilux has developed two new materials specifically for the tank container sector: Lamilux High Strength X-treme Gelcoat and Lamilux High Strength Impact Sunsation. These high-performance fiberglass-reinforced plastic (GRP) solutions are designed to offer superior durability, easy maintenance, and premium aesthetics.

The new materials are up to 70 percent lighter than conventional GRP materials, providing significant advantages where mechanical loads are high and operating conditions are demanding. They are also up to 400 percent stronger than conventional composite materials, ensuring robust performance in demanding exterior uses.

Lamilux High Strength X-treme Gelcoat is presumed to offer an advanced gelcoat that is formulated to withstand mechanical stress, chemicals, and environmental exposure typical in tank container environments. It is designed for applications where impact resistance is critical, such as tank cladding that must endure rough handling, loading, and transport conditions.

Lamilux High Strength Impact Sunsation, on the other hand, offers up to 20 times greater UV and weather resistance compared to standard gelcoat systems. This ensures long-lasting color brilliance and material integrity even under extreme conditions. The surface is also designed to be easy to clean and maintain, reducing operational downtime and cleaning costs.

Both materials are engineered for high performance in demanding exterior uses, suggesting strong impact and structural properties. As part of a harmonized system (including walls, ceilings, and floors), these materials are well-suited for comprehensive cladding solutions.

For fleet operators, these innovations mean more payload, less fuel consumption, and therefore lower CO2 emissions. The new surfaces retain their gloss and color even after years of use, providing a visually appealing finish that is also durable and long-lasting.

Lamilux produces the fiber-reinforced composites in an automated, continuous manufacturing process, ensuring short delivery times with consistent quality through independent production lines.

At the event, Lamilux will exhibit a tank container with GRP cladding on the open-air grounds between the halls. Visitors will also have the opportunity to see a fully equipped original tank container with GRP cladding for direct impression.

These new tank claddings by Lamilux are designed to reduce repair costs and downtime for fleet operators. Lamilux is targeting operators of tank containers used in international transport.
