Internet service on mobile devices has been disrupted in St. Petersburg.

Unfiltered, Unapologetic Update:

Tech woes hit St. Pete residents hard! Folks across St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region are packing their punch of complaints about mobile connectivity and internet service disruptions. Check out Downdetector, the mecca of such reports – and guess who's shining brightest in Russia? You got it, ol' St. Pete!

In the past hour, man, we're talkin' over 2,000 grumbles about the internet going kaput in the city, and over 9,000 in the last 24 hours! If you're curious about the main players causing these frustrations, Megafon's handling 21%, MTS and T-Mobile І 19% and 17% respectively, while Beeline and Yota make up for 13% and 7% respectively. Feels like a battleground when it comes to connectivity, huh? Most of these reports have been rolling in from the city and the Leningrad region.

The frustrations started spiking up at 5 am – coincidentally, around the time flight restrictions kicked in at the bustling Pulkovo Airport. At 05:57, Alexander Drozdenko, Leningrad's governor, announced an air threat regime due to a drone attack repulsion situation. The message was straightforward: "Connectivity limitations have been put into force in select zones," it said.

Insight: While RBC Group confirmed the repulsion of the attack and lifting of the air threat regime at 9:45, it appears folks in St. Pete are still smack-dab in the middle of these connectivity woes. Downdetector users can't seem to get their hands on their mobile signals since 8 am, and they're struggling with the internet too! Singapore District's Krasnoselsky residents seem to be hit the hardest.

Overnight, drone-hunting became a hot trend – over 100 drones claimed their inevitable end over 12 Russian regions, with the Bryansk and Belgorod regions accounting for 46 and 20 drones respectively. The Belgorod governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov, reported an unfortunate 8-year-old injured in the mess, but other governors have kept tight-lips about any casualties.

Insight: It's worth noting that a DDoS attack targeted St. Petersburg-based telecom company Severen-Telecom back in May 2025. However, we couldn't find any specific information about the connection between this attack and the current connectivity disruptions in the region following the drone attacks. For the latest and accurate updates, be sure to check local news sources or official announcements from the authorities.
