Chery Exeed Exlantix E05: A Technologically Advanced Mid-Size EREV SUV
The automotive industry is abuzz with the upcoming launch of the Chery Exeed Exlantix E05, a technologically advanced mid-size extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) SUV. This new addition to Chery's Exeed luxury sub-brand is set to debut at the Munich Motor Show in September.
The Exlantix E05 measures 4,780 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, and 1,725 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,800 mm. While weight details are not explicitly provided, it is built on Chery's E0X platform.
Under the hood, the Exlantix E05 is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine producing 115 kW (156 hp) and 220 Nm of torque. This engine acts as a generator for the electric system, along with a 32.659 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery. This battery provides a pure electric range of approximately 165 km. The SUV's top speed is 200 km/h, and its fuel efficiency is around 5.8 liters per 100 kilometers based on the Worldwide harmonized Light vehicles Test Cycle (WLTC).
The Exlantix E05 boasts an advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) called Horizon Robotics HSD, powered by the Journey 6P chip. This system offers urban-level autonomous features with optional lidar support. The system will also be integrated into Chery's Falcon assisted driving solution, which has three tiers: Falcon 500, Falcon 700, and Falcon 900. These tiers focus on various levels of autonomous driving, from highways and parking assist to urban navigation and level 3 autonomous driving.
The exterior of the Exlantix E05 is as striking as its technology. The front fascia features a closed face with step-design headlights, a trapezoidal grille, and a chrome-plated bumper. High-definition cameras are located on the front fenders. The side profile showcases a dropping roofline from the B-pillar, a through-type taillight group, a high mounted brake light, a roof spoiler, and traditional door handles. The roof of the SUV is equipped with a lidar, and 12 radars are located throughout the vehicle.
Wheel options range from 18-inch to 20-inch alloy wheels, depending on the specification chosen. However, the interior design of the Exlantix E05 has not been revealed yet.
The Chery Exeed Exlantix E05 is positioned as a technologically advanced, mid-sized extended-range EV with a focus on efficient urban driving and enhanced driver assistance capabilities. It is not related to the Freelander SUV from Land Rover & Chery or the Luxeed R7, which are different vehicles.
