Johnnie Walker Unveils 'The Couture Blend' Luxury Scotch Whisky
Creative Fashion Director Olivier Rousteing and Master Blender Dr. Emma Walker have joined forces once again to unveil The Couture Blend, a limited-edition luxury Scotch whisky. Following the success of Couture Expression, this new release is a bold fusion of heritage and avant-garde design, crafted in the Johnnie Walker Vault in Edinburgh.
The Couture Blend is a liquid manifesto of style and balance, featuring a unique blend of experimental modern whiskies and rare malts from long-closed distilleries. Dr. Walker selected a spicy chocolate malt experiment from Teaninich, a ghost cask from Port Ellen, and rare malts from Roseisle matured in ex-wine casks to create this exceptional blend.
At the heart of The Couture Blend lies a rare 'ghost whisky' from the closed Port Dundas distillery, chosen by Dr. Walker for its unique character. This whisky, along with several others aged for at least 40 years, marks a significant moment for Rousteing, coinciding with his 40th birthday.
The whisky is presented in an architectural crystal decanter designed by Rousteing. The decanter features prominent shoulders and an oversized square stopper, dressed in gold, reflecting the designer's modern couture aesthetic and redefining the codes of luxury Scotch.
Only 1,500 individually numbered decanters of The Couture Blend will be produced, each with a recommended retail price of $2,500. This limited-edition whisky is a tribute to creative evolution and a testament to the collaboration between Rousteing and Walker. It follows the success of Couture Expression and continues to push the boundaries of luxury Scotch whisky.
