The Female Pro League (FPL), Kazakhstan's first professional women's eSports league, was officially launched on July 23, 2025, in Almaty. This marks a significant milestone in the country's eSports scene, providing a dedicated platform for female gamers to develop their skills and compete on a global stage [1][2][3][4].
The league's focus is on Counter-Strike 2, and it has already attracted the attention of international guests who emphasised the importance of the FPL initiative for promoting inclusive and equal eSports in the region. Notable attendees included Cliff Kelly, an eSports event producer, and Dzhamilia Alagozova (Jammie), a Kyrgyz professional gamer known for competing in global tournaments with Team Spirit Female.
Aigera Dunamis has been named as the FPL Ambassador, and the league aims to provide a safe and competitive environment for female gamers to compete for prize money. The first FPL tournament offers a prize pool of 2.5 million tenge (US$4,647), with the grand final set to be held offline in Almaty.
The success of the first tournament has paved the way for a second tournament, planned before the end of the year, which is expected to feature an increased prize fund. The FPL also aspires to challenge dismissive attitudes towards women in gaming and is open to participants worldwide.
With its commitment to professionalising women's eSports in Kazakhstan, the FPL is poised to become a growth point for the industry in the region, offering opportunities for female gamers to showcase their talents and compete at the highest level.
